London

An arty luxury boutique lifestyle property in the heart of London’s Fitzrovia

Sumptuous, grand and gorgeous, the Mandrake boutique hotel in London offers a whole other experience for guests.

Its design is out of the ordinary, mellow, and muted but not dull and boring. It has 34 luxurious bedrooms including three opulent suites and a penthouse, each one-off designs that will take your breath away.

While many boutique hotels have spas, The Mandrake offers something out of the ordinary in the form of spiritual wellbeing treatments.

All designed to centre your chacras, realign your third eye and generally make you feel better from the inside, classes have included Multi Instrumental Sound Journeys; Tea and Vortex Healing Ceremonies; and Medicine Song Tribal Ceremonies.

What’s great about the therapies is you can take your learnings home with you and continue your spiritual reawakening when not at The Mandrake.

As you may expect, The Mandrake doesn’t do eating and drinking in an ordinary way, offering no fewer than six ways to indulge.

Outside guests can choose from private cabanas, where you can play host to your own guests; the Jurema Terrace offers a slightly less formal experience – but still ultra-lux; while the courtyard is an open-air casual meeting space, perfect for a light nibble or pre-dinner drink.

Inside it all becomes extra special with three options, including Yopo with its forest design featuring trees and shrubbery to dine beneath. The food, developed by head chef George Scott-Toft, is inspired by South American cuisine following his travels through Argentina, Chile and Peru. Dine at Yopo on a Thursday evening and you’ll be treated to live music.

Next is Waeska Bar, filled with treasured artefacts and offering an exquisite cocktail menu founded on ethnobotany, which to you and I is the study of a region’s plants and their uses. A live DJ plays to a cool crowd at the expansive bar every Friday and Saturday night.

Should you require private banqueting, The Mandrake also boats a private dining room able to seat up to 20 guests. And finally, visitors can take advantage of a specially prepared food and cocktail menu, exclusive to hotel guests only.
