A stunning 17th century house, Barnsley House is a luxury boutique hotel and spa situated in the beautiful, green Cotswolds.
The ritzy hotel and its renowned landscaped gardens provide the perfect setting for a night or two away to regain some calm and composure.
As the hotel’s website says: “Let the clocks stop… and time stand still. Steal away to a picture-perfect Cotswold village and your very own country house retreat, nestled in the storybook garden of your dreams.”
It’s a rare a sentiment rings so true, but this about Barnsley House really does sum up the experience that awaits you at this very special place.
A selection of rooms, suites and a cottage, all featuring soft and natural colours and furnishings, await your arrival. The hotel also offers rooms in the village hotel, just across the road, which also serves food as well as a good selection of fine beers, wines and spirits.
Dining at the hotel, the Potager overlooks the gardens and terrace and provides dishes prepared using fresh and local ingredients, as well as those picked and sourced from the kitchen garden.
The kitchen garden itself is the perfect example of an English country garden, and were developed in the 1950s by Rosemary Verey. Much of the restaurant’s seasonal menus are made using ingredients from the garden.
And of course, Barnsley House has a good-sized relaxing and modern spa where you and perhaps a friend or significant other can come and revitalise your bodies and minds.
Treatments include, but are not limited to, biotec facials, full body massages, and signature treatments, all lasting between around one or two hours.
A nice surprise, especially for film buffs, the boutique hotel also has its own cinema and screens a range of movies from sing-along favourites to classic action moves and chick flicks.
