The lodge itself is a Palladian mansion set within 200 acres of open countryside on the outskirts of the village of Middleton Tyas, close to Scotch Corner.
It was designed by architect John Carr and built between 1777 and 1780 for George Hartley, whose ancestors were one of the major land-owning families in the area. Still a family home, under the Allison family, it was used as a filming location for the television film Perfect Day as well as several other shows and films.
A wonderful location to escape to at all times of the year, Middleton Lodge is an exceptional venue for guests looking to relax while taking in some stunning countryside and dining on exquisite food.
