The Homewood hotel and spa near Bath offers guests a fantastically fun time within the walls of the golden brick building, and indeed in the surrounding land.
It was bought in 2018 by experienced hoteliers Ian and Christa Taylor, who envisaged the building as a relaxing and luxurious country house hotel, something they have certainly achieved.
Their trademark creative flair has been used to elevate the traditional Georgian mansion to a modern dwelling while also remaining sympathetic to its history and character. The house has been infused with random artworks chosen by the couple, who have also ensured a sense of fun has been injected into throughout.
Relaunched in 2020, Homewood has quickly established itself as one of the most luxurious boutique hotels in the area.
Rooms are broken into several categories including Elegant, Marvellous, Junior Suite, Hot Tub Suite and the No.7 Upper Lansdown.
Each is sumptuously decorated and feature quirky details to excite guests on every visit. No.7 Upper Lansdown is an extra special space, the hotel’s mews dwelling in Bath City featuring a private terrace and is filled with luxury details.
If No.7 sounds up your street, but you don’t wish to be in the centre of the city, then just a few steps away from the main hotel you’ll find the Millingford Mews, the original lodge house for Homewood with 10 bedrooms to choose from.
There’s plenty to choose from when it comes to food and drink in the main house too, but our current favourite is the dining domes, where guests can have intimate dining experiences as small or larger groups.
Launched in the autumn of 2021 for the cooler season, the domes offer little pockets of luxury and are filled with mood lighting, cosy throws and are the perfect setting for elegant feasts beneath the stars.
And if you’re in need of some respite deeper than a beautiful room and equally stunning food and drink, Homewood has a beautiful spa and pool for you to relax in.
