Established in 1863 and overlooking the world’s most famous loch, Foyers Lodge is the perfect retreat for Nessie spotters and relaxation seekers alike.
The stunning Victorian retreat sits in the heart of the Scottish Highlands and was recently honoured in the inaugural MICHELIN hotels guide for the most outstanding hotels in the UK and Ireland with a One Key distinction.
Foyers Lodge was built in the 1800s and has recently been refurbished by its owners Anna and Phil and has a rich history for its highland hospitality.
The lodge itself dates back hundreds of years and has seen several extensions and redevelopments over the years, turning it into the stunning property it is today.
Foyers is nestled on the quieter, south side, of the loch and is an ultimate getaway surrounded by woodland, stunning walks, and equally beautiful views.
There are six individually designed cosy and tranquil bedrooms with interiors that reflect the traditional heritage of the lodge. An Executive Suite, located on the ground floor and accessed via its own private entrance, is also available to guests.
Also available to guests is a fully serviced apartment on the ground floor that is accessed via its own private entrance.
The dwelling offers a beautiful dining room with grand views of the surroundings from large bay windows where guests can relax and watch the landscape in front of them.
Although in a relatively remote location, there is plenty to do including forest walks, fishing and boat trips to name a few activities.
Those interested in fishing the loch can book guided tours and catch species including ferox trout, sea trout, brown trout and the Atlantic salmon to name a few.
There is also horse riding, tours of the Falls of Foyers and of course, being in Scotland, plenty of golfing opportunities.
But it goes on, there are castles aplenty in the area and also water sports including kayaking.
And let’s not forget, there are plenty of opportunities to sample local whiskies, with the Tomatin distillery just a 45-minute drive away from the lodge.
