In 2021, Ashley and Tom Fahey bought the property on the edge Ventnor Cascades, spending a year undertaking a beautiful makeover.
Originally built as a home for the local rector in the 1840s, The Terrace Rooms & Wine was lovingly restored before opening in 2022 – a second venture under The Terrace brand.
Since opening, its mission has been to bring destination stays, wine, events and design to the Isle of Wight creating a luxury hotel with shop, tastings, dinner, education, events and a wholesale arm.
This six-bedroom boutique guest house has an emphasis on destination wine, décor and barista coffee, equipped with a wine shop, tasting room and off-season restaurant.
Stays in all of the luxury, sea-view bedrooms include a unique wine tasting, four course breakfast (yes, four) and access to the 900-bottle cellar for the duration of your stay.
From wine fridges, a free-standing roll top bath and sumptuous mattresses to sink into, every detail has been considered, ensuring guests have a fabulous stay.
Tom conducts a 5pm guided tasting each day in the gorgeous wine room, where the walls are lined with hundreds of the finest wines while on Fridays, the venue opens its intimate restaurant where he also cooks a tasting menu with produce from the island.
The Terrace is somewhere for all seasons. While in the summer, you can breathe in the sea air while basking in the sunshine on a lounger and when the weather turns, you can curl up by the fire, quaffing exquisite wine in one of the cosy corners.
If you love wine and stunning coastal views, this Victorian-style hotel by the sea is ideal for a luxury weekend break on the Isle of Wight.
