The stunning location has far reaching views over the rolling hills of the Colyn Valley and with it being only three miles from the world heritage site of the Jurassic Coast, it offers a true escape to those looking for something different.
With seven-bedrooms, including a self-contained cabin and annex, the house is spacious enough for you to find that quiet spot to relax within the house. The interior design has a real wow factor and the beautifully designed bedrooms offer a real retreat.
Since Olive and Hugo Guest took over Glebe House, which was Hugo’s former family home, it has built a reputation as a foodie retreat.
The couple spent some time in Italy and became inspired by agroturismos; working farms with accommodation and small restaurants generously showcasing all of the artisan products from that particular farm.
After honing his craft as a chef in top London restaurants, in 2020 Hugo and the family moved from London, and set to work on turning Glebe into an English ‘agroturismo’ with an emphasis on food and art experiences. They built a vegetable garden with a polytunnel, cutting gardens, an on-site bakery and temperature-controlled ageing room for salumi production.
Hugo’s food is heavily influenced by the time spent in Italy, with dining options designed to suit guests and non-residents at this foodie’s paradise. Those looking for a more casual hearty dining option can opt for the “Kitchen Supper” which serves delicious pies, roast chicken and vegetable lasagne. While those craving the fine dining experience can opt into the Glebe House Dinner, a regularly changing fixed menu of four courses and delicious extras.
Olive’s passion for art sees the rooms are adorned with her own work and murals as well as carefully curated work from local artists and handmade objects and ceramics.
